Pugnochiuso is a beach located on the coast between Vieste and Mattinata. It is part of a resort with the same name and is accessible only for resort’s guests. Other people can only enter on boat.
This beach is almost 300 meters long. It is surrounded by lush vegetation and its seabed is made of a mixture of sand and gravel.
Enrico Mattei, who flew over the Gargano coast in 1959, was amazed for the beautiful view and strongly pursued the construction of the resort. Pugnochiuso undoubtedly got tourism in Gargano started on the road during the 60’s.
